FAQ Feather Touch Tattoo
WHY HAVE FEATHER TOUCH EYEBROW TATTOOING?
Cosmetic eyebrow tattooing will save you time and frustration. Your brows look great twenty four hours a day and there is no need to draw your eyebrows on anymore. You can swim, sleep, perspire, have a sauna, play sport, wash your hair and it still look great.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM SUCH A TREATMENT?
Eyebrow feathering can benefit people who:
- Have over-plucked their eyebrow hair
- Have gaps or scars where the hair has not grown back
- Are suffering from Alopecia (hair loss), weak or light hair
- Want a particular shape for their eyebrows
DOES EYEBROW TATTOOING HURT?
We apply a topical anaesthetic to the eyebrows so most people are very comfortable, this does vary in each individual. Panadol can be taken 45 minutes prior to the procedure to minimize sensitivity. Some clients are so relaxed; they even fall asleep during the procedure. Note: If you are currently menstruating, are sick or extremely run down, there may be slight discomfort with the procedure.
IS IT SAFE?
We use disposable needles and sterilisation of equipment as required. Performed by our resident brow expert, you’re in very safe hands.
DO I NEED TO HAVE AN EYEBROW TATTOO CONSULTATION BEFORE I COME IN?
You do not require a separate consultation before your treatment, your Tattooist with go through your consultation on the day of your appointment before your treatment.
IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY TREATMENT?
If you are taking any blood thinners (i.e. fish oil, krill oil, aspirin, anything with ibuprofen in it like nurofen) please stop taking them 2 weeks before your treatment. If due to medical conditions you can’t stop taking them this is fine, please advise your Tattooist on the day.
No alcohol to be consumed at least 24 hours before treatment as this can make treatment more painful.
No coffee at least 2 hours before treatment.
I also suggest you wash your hair on the day as you will not be able to wet your eyebrows for 7 days post treatment.
WHAT COLOUR PIGMENTS ARE USED?
We use quality pigment lotions based in iron oxide, a safe non-reactive substance. The pigment lotions are specifically manufactured for implantation into human skin. Pigment lotions are inorganic (meaning they are semi-permanent). A powder is suspended into a solution of distilled water and glycerine which results in a smooth creamy liquid.
WILL IT LOOK NATURAL?
Yes, cosmetic embroidery looks as if you applied a pencil, a little softer and more muted. Immediately after the eyebrow tattoo treatment the colour will appear stronger and darker for the first 7-14 days. After that, you can lose approximately 10 – 20% of complete colour during the healing process within 7-14 days.
HOW PERMANENT ARE EYEBROW TATTOOS?
The cosmetic tattoo will generally last up to 18-24 months. The colour will slightly fade over time depending on the individual’s lifestyle choices, skin tones and the pigment used. The client may need a touch-up procedure every 1-2 years to keep the colour vibrant.
IS THERE ANY DOWN TIME?
The majority of people don’t need to take time off work. There is usually no swelling with the eyebrow treatments but this can vary from person to person depending on levels of sensitivity.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY NEW BROWS?
- Avoid washing the area for 7 days (DO NOT WET THEM FOR 7 DAYS)
- Avoid any exfoliants during the healing process (28 days)
- Avoid swimming pools, the beach, steam rooms and saunas during the healing process (7-14 days).
- Apply after-care products recommended by us.
SO WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Firstly our expert cosmetic tattooist will pencil and outline on our brows to a shape that is to your liking. A full consultation to determine the colour and style that suits your needs takes place, then a brow tidy up will follow and anaesthetic cream will be applied to the area to minimise your discomfort. Your pigment colour will then be applied to your skin finishing off with a soothing lotion to help with your healing process.
